Google Classroom (all levels): A blended learning platform developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. This learning management system has been endorsed by the district and is fully supported by the technology department. Bloomz (all levels, emphasis on younger students. Bloomz is a new, free tool designed to help teachers, parents, and PTA members share information and photos through real-time communication and coordination. Built primarily for the K-8 environment,Bloomz is an excellent tool for helping create connections between parents and teachers
ClassDojo (all levels, emphasis on younger students): A behavior management tool for the classroom. This is a way to digitize the clip chart system at the younger grade levels and foster communication with parents/guardians. Each student has a profile – complete with their own avatar – to which teachers can assign positive and negative points (or 'dojos') throughout the lesson. Watch this short video as an introduction.
Remind is a private mobile messaging platform that enables teachers, parents, students, and administrators in k-12 schools to communicate with each other. It is an excellent way to send out information to students and parents w/out giving out your phone number and is completely traceable.
